My name is Gabrielle. I am the founder and owner of 'Bark Off NZ'. Just like my t-shirt says, I'm easily distracted by dogs. I've always been obsessed with everything canine-related, so I decided to take my passion into the workforce and start my own business.

 

I am a qualified Canine Trainer and Behavior Consultant. I obtained a Certificate in 'Canine Training and Behavior' (CBT-CANZ) from Unitec (Auckland) and a Certificate in 'Animal Welfare Investigations' (Animal Welfare Law) from Unitec (Auckland). I am also looking into furthering my studies into Canine psychology next year (2025) hopefully.

 

I only use Force-Free Positive Training methods and do not condone the use of anything forceful or advertise shock collars, Bark collars, etc. However, if I have a client who is currently using these negative tools, I do my best to educate and not to pass judgment (unless I believe intervention is needed).

 

I have personally owned and cared for many dogs in my life so far, including an American Akita (Dawn), a Staffy x (Marley), a kelpie x curly coat retriever (Sherlock), and my current dog, a blue border collie named Aurora. I am a stay-at-home mom, so I am able to take on clients and my workload around my family life.
